The best boy's basketball in Michigan is Orchard Lake St. Mary's!! The 9-0 Eaglets have beaten some of the best teams in Michigan. With wins over Brother Rice (2x), Grand Blanc, Flint Beecher Hamtramck, Detroit King, Warren De La Salle and most recently a 81-40 win over #10 Ferndale.
In order to be the BEST, you have to beat the best! They have performed in the toughest of battles against the Top teams.
This team is more than Julian Roper @JuRoper (Northwestern commit) and top '22 PG Kareem Rozier @kareemrozier3. 2021 Senior SG Will Smythe @WillSmythe5 showed he's one of the best shooters in the state after dropping 40 on Ferndale with 12 made threes! Peter Nwoke @peternw0ke, Harrison Ogochuwu @OGHarrison_jnr and Decorian Temple are beast on the inside. Michigan Baseball commit, Jack Crighton @j_crighton5 does it all inside and out for this team too.
Provided that this team stays healthy, winning the State Championship will be the next best win for this team!
Grosse Pointe South Guard Posting BIG Numbers!! | Alex Downey can score!
When Kamryn Richards went down with an injury for Grosse Pointe South Girls Basketball, someone had to pick up the scoring slack. That person would be Senior Guard Alexa Downey!!
In a stretch of 7 games Alexa has scored, 30 points, 25 points, 30 points, 27 points, 30 points and capped it off with a 32 point, 6 steal, 5 assist game in a win over Macomb Dakota, 58-39. South went 6-1 in those games as she LIT UP everyone!
The Senior has had some interest from Hope College over the summer but the 5'8 guard doesn't have any offers. Seems as if she can easily play in the GLIAC but those schools haven't noticed. She wants to major in Engineering at the University of Michigan if schools do not end up recruiting her. So coaches, if you need someone who can score, she is your girl!!
Mak Manciel picks up 3 GLIAC Offers!! | SH Stevenson Guard is ready!!!
We have talked about Mak Manciel @MancielMak quite a few times and we are glad that schools are starting to take notice!! After picking up an offer from Grand Valley State University, two other schools in the GLIAC offered him including Northwood University in Midland, MI.
Manciel has been putting up great numbers for Sterling Heights Stevenson this season. In a recent game against Macomb L'Anse Creuse North, the 6'4 guard posted 27 points in a OT 62-55 win. Expect more schools to recruit this rising guard as he continues to play very well Sterling Heights Stevenson.

One of Best Girls Teams in the State | Grass Lake Warriors are here!!
The team that most people don't know about that is really good is Grass Lake @GLAKEWARRIORS. Currently ranked at #1 in Division 3 by the Detroit Free Press and #2 regardless of class, the 11-1 Warriors is playing at a very high-level!
Lead by ESPN nationally ranked 2022, Lexus Bargesser @LexusBargesser, who has offers from schools in the SEC, ACC and Big Ten. She also just surpassed scoring 1,000 points in her career. Grand Valley State commit, Abie Cabana @AbrieCopa and Northwood commit, Gabrielle Lutchka @GLutchka are also very good players who will force you to play high-level basketball to beat them. This season they have a very tough wins over Detroit Renaissance and Ann Arbor Prep. If you are picking a winner for Division 3 this season, it will be hard not to choose Grass Lake!!
